Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 1, 2026

This policy describes what information is handled when you read gigov.com, a site about gadgets, smart home products and apps and software. It also explains how the operator uses that information and the choices you have. In this policy, the operator means whoever runs Gigov, and we and us refer to the operator.

What our servers record

When a page of Gigov loads, the servers that deliver it keep routine logs. An entry can include your IP address, the time of the request, the page asked for, the browser and device type, and the address of the page that sent you here. Because Gigov is read on handheld screens, tablets, laptops and even smart displays, device details help us see which layouts need attention. Logs also help us find faults and block abusive traffic.

Cookies and similar technology

Gigov may use cookies and comparable browser storage. A few exist only so a page can remember something like a reading layout between visits. Others, where switched on, count visits to articles, support advertising, or note that a reader arrived at a store through a Gigov link so that an affiliate referral can be credited. A cookie set by an advertiser or analytics provider is under that provider’s control, so its own notice decides how it is used.

Controlling tracking in your browser

Readers of a technology site will often know these tools already: you can block or clear cookies, use private windows, switch on tracker blocking or install content blockers. Where your browser sends a do-not-track or global privacy signal, we treat it as an opt-out wherever the tools we use support that. Some features, such as embedded content, may not appear if you block storage.

Emails and messages you send

If you write to [email protected], we receive your address and whatever you include, such as device models, error messages or screenshots. We use these to answer you, check a possible mistake and keep a record of the exchange. Your email stays private: it is never sold, and neither it nor your name appears on the site unless you agree first. Please leave out passwords, pairing codes, Wi-Fi details and account numbers.

Newsletters and forms

If Gigov offers a newsletter or a form, the details you enter are used only for that purpose, such as sending the updates you requested. Any mailing will carry a way to opt out, and a plain email asking to be taken off the list works just as well.

Outside services we rely on

Running a site like this involves other providers. They may include hosting and content delivery, analytics, advertising and affiliate networks, and embedded items such as videos from device makers. These providers may receive technical details about your visit so their part of the service works. They handle that data under their own privacy notices, not ours.

How long data is kept

Visit logs are held for a short window and then wiped or boiled down to simple traffic counts. A message from a reader is kept only as long as it helps us answer, fix an article or satisfy a legal obligation, and then it is removed.

Asking about your data

Depending on where you live, you may be entitled to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to certain uses, or to withdraw consent given earlier. To make a request, email [email protected] and describe what you want. We may need to confirm that the request really comes from you, and we will respond within the period the law requires.

Children

Gigov is written for a general audience and is not aimed at children under 13. We never set out to gather details from young readers. If a child has sent us details, tell us by email and we will delete them.

Security

Protection here means encrypted connections to the site and a mailbox that only the operator opens. Since no system online is entirely secure, we cannot guarantee absolute protection, and we encourage you to keep your own devices and accounts updated.

Data crossing borders

The providers behind Gigov may process information in several countries, where data protection rules can differ from those near you. By using the site, you accept that information about your visit may be handled in this way.

Changes to this policy

When the site adds a new tool, ad partner or feature, or when the law shifts, this text may be updated. The effective date above shows when this version began, and continuing to read Gigov after an update means you accept the revised text.

Complaints and consent

Consent you have given can be withdrawn whenever you like, without affecting earlier use. Our Cookie Policy sets out which cookies are used and how to change your mind about them. If you live in the EU, EEA or UK you can complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office); in Australia, to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
